Details: POSITION OBJECTIVE: The ARAMARK Production Excellence (APEX) Trainer is responsible for teaching and educating ARAMARK Uniform Services (AUS) Production and Maintenance leaders on activities that improve plant operations, including Safety, Efficiency, Quality, and Cost, within an assigned region. The primary goal is to develop Production and Maintenance Managers and solicit active participation by the Vice President of Operations (VPO) and the Director of Plant Operations (DPO) in a continuous education and learning process. Ultimately the APEX Trainer is accountable for building a Production/Maintenance learning culture in the region by demonstrating the connection between the training plan with organizational goals and objectives. The APEX Trainer will participate in Production and Maintenance training design and will incorporate adult learning principles into the curriculum. The APEX Trainer will also assist in the creation and evaluation of new and existing training programs. The incumbent should have the ability to analyze the impact of APEX training by assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the region training plan and modify it to continuously improve plant operations. The APEX Trainer works with all levels of management to achieve Production/Maintenance training goals and ties training to the organization's Mission and Vision statements. The APEX process is similar to other work space efficiency and effectiveness concepts, such as 5S, Six Sigma, LEAN, TEAM concept, and Continuous Process Improvement. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop written and online documentation of Plant Operations and Maintenance procedures and APEX processes and tools. Leverage the Learning Management System (LMS). Collaborate with APEX team to establish onboarding and continuing education and certification programs to keep knowledge fresh on Production, Maintenance, APEX process and tools. Organize, develop, and deliver training on Production, Maintenance, and APEX processes to Front Line managers at all levels. Provide APEX training materials to existing training programs for GMs and VPOs. Assists in the interviewing, orientation and training of Production Managers, Supervisors, Maintenance Managers, and other Operations staff in the proper use of the ARAMARK MOS tools and procedures as well as job specific technical skills, such as: Plant Operations, Laundry Processes, Best Practices, Preventative Maintenance Schedules, Observations, work load planning, etc. Works with region leadership to ensure new Production/Maintenance Manager hires fit the appropriate profile. Effectively and clearly communicates proper Production/Maintenance Manager Onboarding & Production/Maintenance Manager training techniques to Operations Managers and assists in region execution. Works with the APEX team and DPOs to develop a region Production/Maintenance training plan that aligns Production/Maintenance training resources on APEX process training as well as specific Production/Maintenance knowledge. Identifies the knowledge and skills that align with desired new behaviors and understands the impact of his and/or her training skills on his and/or her facilitation style and use these strengths to facilitate effectively. Audits compliance of Production/Maintenance Manager Onboarding. Participates in plant review sessions with Production/Maintenance managers for the purpose of providing on-going direct training, coaching and facilitation. Completes written follow-up memos and/or trip reports identifying strengths and areas for improvement and will provide feedback to the appropriate region management teams, possibly including: Regional Vice President (RVP), DPO, VPO, and GM. Trains and facilitates ARAMARK Uniform Services (AUS) instructor led courses on a rotating basis as needed in addition to one-on-one training in the field and in the Market Centers environments. Assists in the training of APEX process and tools to all AUS Operations staff. This training will need to drive understanding and use of all key Plant metric reports including APEX reports. Works with regional Operations teams to drive productivity through effective and efficient management and training support. Will participate in the training and implementation of production methods. Attends Management Operating Reviews (MOR) when travel and schedule allows and will provide feedback for the Operations teams within the region. Utilizes information learned in the reviews to determine if training is an appropriate solution, or if a problem can be corrected by different performance improvement solutions such as procedure revision, development of appropriate job aids, etc. Assists in the training of the Production/Maintenance department with performance analysis checklists to identify the difference(s) between actual and desired performance, the cause of discrepancy, and provide suggestions on actions to address the causes whether training related or not. Utilizes a variety of effective training methodologies and should have demonstrated enthusiasm for training in order to motivate others to learn. Provides technical and management training to field personnel through workshops, seminars and one-on-one sessions in such areas as operations, staffing, IT, contingency planning, productivity, cost effectiveness, manpower scheduling, and route optimization of delivery vehicles. Assists in training of management personnel in engineering techniques and computer systems for monitoring and controlling operating costs. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Position will require 75% or more travel typically to a specific region or group of facilities. Could travel nationwide.
