Summary: Responsible accurate and timely maintenance of Steward Medical Group (SMG) charge master to ensure appropriate reimbursement, and compliance with relevant billing regulations Responsible for training in CPT assignment for onboarding physicians; monitoring new physicians as described per policy and re-educating as needed. Audit and educate coding staff as necessary Job Duties: • Coordinate annual charge master rate increases, CPT/HCPCS, coding and maintenance updates. Review all additions and changes for completeness and accuracy. Coordinate interim updates as needed. • Perform periodic compliance audits in focus areas as assigned, including summarizing audit findings, and proposing recommendations. • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing problems related to coding • Receive, read, assimilate and distribute all third-party information related to the charge master as appropriate including: • Educate practices/physicians on basic coding and compliance issues • Educate key stakeholders on significant matters related to charge master issues, coverage decisions, coding issues, and new or revised regulations. • Based on experience and industry knowledge, make recommendations to streamline processes related to accurate and appropriate revenue capture for services performed, ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulations and guidelines. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration, Education, Nursing or related health science field preferred • 5 years of related work experience. • Must have CPC or CCS-P, Certification of healthcare compliance (CHC) strongly preferred • Advanced experience utilizing MS Office Suite of products, especially MS Excel • Superior analytical skills, excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills, • Thorough knowledge of health care operations, physician practice reimbursement including RVUs, charging practices, governmental coding requirements including extensive knowledge of CPT / HCPCS / ICD and modifiers, and healthcare financial systems • Experience in researching, interpreting and applying Medicare, Medicaid, MASSHEALTH and other third party payer regulations is essential • Demonstrated highly developed project management skills Steward Medical Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
