Network Security Sr. Advisor - MSS Operations Lead Trainer

Details: POSITION SUMMARY The MSS Ops Lead Trainer is a high profile, critical member of the Dell SecureWorks Managed Security Services Operations organization which delivers managed security services to thousands of clients out of several 24X7 Security Operations Centers. The role is heavily geared towards the creation, modification and delivery of technical content covering Dell SecureWorks’ primary MSS services and should focus on reduced on-boarding time for new hires, targeted skills development training for security operations team members, and documentation creation and maintenance. The target audience for training will be members of the Dell SecureWorks MSS Operations organization (more than 300 people) in the security operations field including: security event analysis, security device management, security platform engineering, operations center customer service, and device implementation engineering. The successful candidate will be a creative and analytical problem-solver, with a strong strategic orientation; someone who deals effectively with both “big picture” issues, as well as detailed tactical activity involved in developing and driving a dynamic program.  Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Help establish, develop, and manage the MSS Operations Training Program at Dell SecureWorks to include: - Affect positive changes to the training program that will allow it to scale to accommodate rapid company growth. - Design, develop, and deliver training modules and other associated materials that facilitate effective knowledge transfer to new security operations personnel as well as existing employees. - Develop and implement metrics, standards, processes and systems in order to easily evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the MSS Ops Training Program. - Maintain and document SOPs for core Operations Team workflow. - Help design and innovate the training delivery infrastructure including online media, a Virtual Training Environment (VTE), and hands-on lab exercises available to trainees in geographically disparate locations. - Manage the training Mentor Program across all MSS Ops departments. - Ability to create and sustain momentum and foster organizational change. - Ability to travel up to 25%. - Perform other essential duties as assigned.  Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - Solid understanding of security principals. - Hands-on experience with technical security activities preferred. - Program management skills preferred. - Self starter who can lead an effort with only high level objectives defined. - Significant experience with the adult learning model of training and delivery.- Experience developing technical training modules and programs.  Education & Experience: - BS/BA or equivalent work experience. - 10 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience: Undergraduate degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience, graduate degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience. - Experience to include: - 3-5 years conducting hands-on and classroom, instructor-led training in a technology-centric enterprise. - 3-5 years of hands-on in security operations, architecture, product development, intrusion analysis, networking, and host and network security. - Proven experience leveraging technology and lab equipment and environments to deliver enhanced, effective/efficient training. - Proven experience in evaluating trainee performance and targeting areas for improvement. - Solid, hands-on experience with networking in complex environments.  Certifications Desired: - CISSP, GSEC, GCIA, MCSA, CCNA,CCNP, CCSP, PMP certifications a plus.
